Cyrena Ferracci and Jerry Ferreira met at a co-ed soccer team party and Cyrena says, “I noticed his smile immediately, which still gives me butterflies!”
Two-and-a-half years later, Jerry proposed. They were in Mexico standing in a gazebo overlooking the ocean. They planned the wedding together, with a white and silver colour theme. They welcomed 220 guests at the service at Trinity Chapel at the University of Toronto and then the reception at Venetian Banquet Hall.
Cyrena’s father had passed away and she knew she would miss the father and daughter dance. Her mother suggested using an old Polish custom. The men would place a monetary gift in a basket that would be held by her maid of honour. As each gift was received, that donor danced with the bride. The custom included accessorizing the bride’s gown with an apron and colourful ribbons.
